DT Special – Morten Schantz in Residency September 2026 – TAG 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morten Schantz ist ein international gefragter Pianist, S\u00e4nger, Komponist und Produzent aus D\u00e4nemark \/ Kopenhagen.
\nIm Doubletime war er bereits mehrfach mit der Duo-Formation RKDIA (Morten Schantz\/Anton Eger) sowie vor drei Jahren mit seinem fantastischen Trio.
\nBei der flie\u00dfenden, melodischen und gleichzeitig rhythmisch wie harmonisch spannenden Jazz-Musik von Morten Schantz entstehen sofort Bilder, teils gibt es Anleihen zur Film-Musik, teils zum Pop, vor Allem aber ist er im Jazz, Groove und Funk zu Hause.
\nIn seiner Residenz wird er in v\u00f6llig unterschiedlichen Formationen sine unglaubliche Bandbreite zeigen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr Dienstag, 29. September 2026, haben wir das Projekt „Morten Schantz Segment“ gebucht.<\/strong>
\nDiese Band haben wir auf dem Jazzfest Kopenhagen im Sommer 2024 erlebt und schon damals war klar: unbedingt ins DT holen!
\nSchlagzeug, Bass, Keyboards, Percussion, Gitarre und Saxophon ergeben den Sound einer kleinen Big Band.
\nSoul, Jazz, Funk und Fusion stehen auf dem Programm.
\nUnd es wird ein Feuerwerk werden!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Schantz Segment is a mythical creature of the Danish jazz-funk underground: a sextet that released only two<\/em>
\nalbums in the mid-2000s, disappeared for years at a time, and returns only on rare occasions.<\/em>
\nLed by keyboardist and composer Morten Schantz, the band released its self-titled debut in 2004 – an<\/em>
\nunderground favourite in Japan – followed by Return From Exile in 2006, a vibrant tribute to 1970s jazz-funk<\/em>
\nand the electric universe of Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters.<\/em>
\nFor the Doubletime Jazz Residency, Schantz Segment returns in its original line-up, featuring some of the<\/em>
\nstrongest profiles from the Danish music scene alongside Ghanaian percussion master Ayi Solomon – a<\/em>
\nmusical wizard whose presence has to be experienced live.<\/em>
\nWhen the sextet enters the stage, Doubletime Jazz will be transformed into a vibrating club space where<\/em>
\nanalogue keyboards, electric bass, horns, guitar, percussion and deep grooves merge into one big electronic<\/em>
\ntime machine.<\/em>
\nAnd in Hameln, of course, one cannot avoid the legend of the Pied Piper. This time, however, Schantz<\/em>
\nSegment will lure the grown-ups into the night with funky tones, hypnotic rhythms and a benevolent kind of<\/em>
\nmusical magic.<\/em><\/div>\n
